SPIC MACAY stands for: “Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth”. It is a voluntary organization, spread across the nation. It aims to disseminate the beauty, grace and wisdom embodied in the traditional and classical Indian art forms among the youth of the nation with a hope that it will become an integral part of their lives, dreams and aspirations. The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth, often known by its initials (SPIC MACAY), is not just a non-profit organization which promotes Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, and other aspects Indian culture, it is a movement with chapters in over 300 towns and cities all over the world. SPIC MACAY was established by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi.
It seeks to foster the exchange of traditional Indian values and to generate awareness of the cultural traditions and heritage of India. In order to achieve its goals, SPICMACAY organizes concerts, lectures, demonstrations, informal discussions, and seminars. These are hosted by local chapters of the organization.
ASHA MODERN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL participated in various workshops and cultural programmes having been organised in the school by this prestigious organization, SPIC MACAY. We have witnessed the cultural Fiestas & Artizans acumen which strengthened the culture & art of our students. Various maestros and artists have performed in the school. To name a few are Maestro Shashank for his flute recital, vocal and instrumental presentation by Ustad Faiyaz wasifuddin, Sitar recital by Shobendra, Sitar and Surbahar recital by Pushparaj Kosti and so on. Spic Macay organized essay writing competition on World Dance Day. Conventions organized by Spic Macay takes our children into another world of discipline, meditation, workmanship & what not!

This is a matter of great honour that five students of ASHA MODERN INTERNATIONAL participated in a workshop on KALAGHAT PAINTING organised by SPIC MACAY. The painter Mr Kalam Patua is a world famous painter .The workshop was of three days 27th Nov to 29th Nov.
Due to Covid 19 our students attended the live workshop from the safety of their homes.
KALAGHAT PAINTING is a prominent subject in class 11th & 12th fine arts .This workshop was an exposure and experience to these five lucky students.
